Our leadership team is entirely made up of volunteers who enjoy running beaver meetings!  All adult leaders have training and a CRB check, and there is always at least one adult who is first aid qualified.

If you would like the opportunity to do something you’d never thought of doing, while having lots of fun and giving back to the community at the same time, please get in touch – we can always do with more leaders!

Hi, I’m Kev and I am one of the Beaver Leaders at 4th Wilmslow.

A long time ago, I was a Sixer in Cubs, a Senior Patrol Leader in Scouts and also a Venture Scout. I took part in the Scouts Gang Show, competed in the Cheshire and Wirral Hikes and achieved Duke of Edinburgh awards with friends I made through Scouting.

Years later, most of the “Scouty” knowledge I had has been long forgotten. What I do remember was trying out new things, making friends and having FUN! So, when the opportunity to help run the Beavers section at 4th Wilmslow arose in 2021, I figured that I owed it to my kids and to their friends to try to recreate some of those amazing experiences for them. Hopefully, they will look back at some special memories one day themselves.

We have a really active colony: We have been on trips and hikes around the local area, indoor climbing, cooked on fires and built rafts. We learn how to do our best for our family, friends and community. Together, we have helped Colony members achieve their Chief Scout’s Bronze Award and prepared our Beavers for Cubs. Most importantly, it’s an hour of fun and friendship on a Friday night – what’s not to like about that?
